Keeper note 01

A link is a door

Why Fantery keeps play in the browser and gives each artifact a permanent address.

You should reach the strange part before the browser gives you time to reconsider. A link makes that possible. No installer asks for trust. No account asks for a name. The artifact opens in the same place where you found it.

That ease costs us something. A browser game must fit unfamiliar screens, share memory with other tabs, and recover when audio or focus disappears. We accept that work because the address matters. You can send one artifact to a friend, cite its record, or return after the tab has gone.

Fantery keeps the wrapper quiet. The game receives the screen. The Cabinet keeps the exit, the record, and a small key on your machine. That division lets each artifact keep its own engine and controls without turning the collection into one shared runtime.

The permanent address also disciplines the workshop. A released number stays attached to its history. We can repair the build and update the record, but we cannot pretend the old drawer never existed.
